CARE INTERIOR DESIGN ELEMENTS
Essentially, by creating an encouraging experience, we create a comforting environment for the patient. Therefore, we always incorporate vital feature elements into our designs. And family members, who sometimes stay with the patient:
- Incorporate colour to highlight.
- Create sensory stimulation, create activities, perhaps even a sensory room.
- Hide the hoists.
- Get the right equipment the first time.
- Provide a lounge/dining space for relaxation, preferably nearby the patient.
- Make your environment dementia-friendly. By creating an interior design for Dementia, you can provide the best quality care.
- Install the proper lighting at the right lighting level.
- Ensure you have plenty of space to move around the room.
The research speaks for itself; if you create a clean, calming environment, you create a serene environment. If it helps slow down the effects of Dementia, we think it’s an investment worth making.
